It's time to have a love affair!

It’s time to have a love affair……..with yourself!
Aham Prema
It’s time to have a love affair.  Now I know what you are thinking, but you’re wrong.  Continuing with last week’s theme of how important self-confidence is, I also want to talk a little today about a subject that is not often discussed, the subject of loving yourself.  It is easy to get lost in the day to day hustle and bustle of life, but we can’t forget how important it is to pamper and love ourselves.  I think that many of our problems stem from the fact that we simply don’t love ourselves enough. Ask anyone what they like about themselves and find out for yourself.  It is easy to focus on the bad things like a big nose, crooked teeth or bad hair, but we are often hard pressed to come up with something off the top of our head that we absolutely love about ourselves.  New Year’s resolutions are often based around things we are trying to change about ourselves, and that is great.  However, there has to come a point when we love ourselves in spite of those things.

I like to broaden my horizons and study many different philosophies and religions because I find that often they are interconnected.  Although I am a Christian, born and raised as a Presbyterian, I have always been fascinated by other schools of thought.  Recently, I have been studying different types of Eastern philosophies and I have been intrigued with the concept of the mantra and how it relates to the body and the energy system within us called the chakras.  Mantra meditation is based upon the concept of a sort of Universal energy, and it is said that by repeating the sacred sounds of different mantras, we can tap into certain types of energy through the repetition of these sacred sounds.  These sounds in turn resonate through our body activating the petals of our chakras, or energy systems, pulling in spiritual energy.  I am especially interested in the mantra of divine love, or the AHAM PREMA MANTRA.  I think we could all use a good dose of divine love, especially towards ourselves, because most of us are severely lacking in it.

Often times, life beats us down and it is difficult to maintain hope.  I wonder what would happen if we all took time out of our day to simply love ourselves and appreciate ourselves for the beautiful, magnificent beings that we are instead of constantly beating ourselves up.  We are not accustomed to praising ourselves and appreciating ourselves when in fact that should be the first place we start.  You cannot look for love if you don’t first love yourself.  When you truly love yourself, you are a walking talking example of divine love and everyone you come in contact with will see it and take a piece of it with them.  It is important to appreciate the beauty of the little things and especially important to learn how to love and appreciate yourself, because when it comes down to it, there is no one else exactly like you.  We all have gifts to offer the world, sometimes it is just difficult figuring out what they are.

As I said in the last post, the most important thing you can carry around with you in your toolkit of life is confidence. Confidence can make or break you.  Without it, you doubt everything and everyone.  With it, you see the world through a different light.  Perhaps if it comes difficult for you, you may need to fake it till you make it.  Everyone loves a confident person because their aura is infectious.  They love themselves, and in turn, people love them because of it.  If you are struggling with fulfilling your New Year’s resolutions, I would encourage you to take a step back and ask yourself if you truly love yourself like you should.  If not, try the mantra of divine love, AHAM PREMA, and see what happens.

Thinking about this concept in terms of Hypnosis, it is important to realize that Hypnosis can help you in just about any aspect of life, including finding true love.  I used the true love Hypnosis session for a friend of mine for fun, and she was amazed at what she saw when she was in trance.  She told me that she saw a wonderful kind, giving man walking towards her on the beach and she could actually sense and feel what he looked like, what he smelled like, and even what country he came from.  She told me that it gave her a great sense of peace to know that somewhere out there, this person might exist.  Now if you are skeptical, keep in mind that the Hypnotist does not create images from your subconscious mind, we are only there to guide you in your journey. You actually create the images.  Now who is to say that these images are not real?  Perhaps the concept of time is actually an earthly condition, when in fact it may be that all time occurs simultaneously,  which would mean that the past affects the future and the future affects the past, or something like that!  Any good scientist will also tell you that the concept of Quantum Physics has a similar philosophy.

In the end, love is really all there is and all that you can take with you.  I would encourage you to start by loving yourself, no matter what. Until next time.

AHAM PREMA and sweetdreams……
